On June 7, 2010, the group Nexus took the wrestling world by storm. Savagely beating up then WWE champion John Cena, CM Punk, Luke Gallows and other wrestling personalities such as Jerry Lawler and Justin Roberts. The group’s violent and vicious attack created a memorable moment and an exciting buzz around the wrestling world.
The original group consisted of Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Skip Sheffield (Ryback), Daniel Bryan (who was fired days later due to strangling Justin Roberts with his tie), Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver, David Otunga, and Darren Young.
The Nexus group never turned out as great as their debut was and every member except Daniel Bryan, David Otunga, and Heath Slater has parted ways from the company since then. Slater is the only active wrestling member in the company.
However, it appears several Nexus members will be reuniting for CHIKARA's 2018 King of Trios tournament, which takes place from August 31st through September 2nd. This will be the 11th Trios tournament for the promotion. Tickets are on sale now. As seen below, The Nexus Alliance team will feature "Mr. No Days Off" Fred Rosser (Darren Young), Michael Tarver and PJ Black (Justin Gabriel) teaming up.
