According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several storylines have been nixed due to the New Era that’s taking place in WWE.
It was heavily speculated that Alexa Bliss was set to become the next GM of RAW; however, those plans have been scrapped. Paige’s role as Smackdown GM was nixed as well due to the company now having the McMahon’s control RAW and Smackdown.
While it appeared that The Miz/Shane McMahon story was still set in stone, the eventually heel turn might not happen after all as it wouldn’t make much sense due to Shane being a babyface on both brands.
The recent pushes of Mustafa Ali and Finn Balor are due to the new regime of the promotion as they were not planned prior to the decision to go in a new direction.
Finally, all of the NXT call ups announced on Raw were already in the works for early next year, WWE simply moved forward with the announcement of their arrival to tie it in with the New Era.
