Shane McMahon made his WWE return during the Men's Royal Rumble match this past Saturday and he put on a surprisingly dominant display in the classic bout. Well, there could be a good reason for that as Ringside News reports that there's a "substantial amount" of heat on McMahon as he was the lead writer and producer for the Rumble.
He reportedly "openly buried Jamie Noble" and went into business for himself by booking the match around his character. He was adamant about putting himself over and supposedly fought to do so.
One source tells them that, "when Shane is more impactful in the Rumble than Big E or Owens, even people who don’t normally complain are complaining loudly today." According to PW Insider, Triple H and TJ Wilson's (Tyson Kidd) respective absences were also problematic as their input is being blamed for the underwhelming men and women's Rumble matches.
It's also being reported that Shane will have big matches at both Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia and WrestleMania. He's expected to be a heel character regularly appearing on RAW and, if he's in charge of his own creative, no doubt someone we'll be seeing a lot of in the weeks to come.
