Shane McMahon has written a column about The Undertaker for ESPN to promote Undertaker: The Last Ride, the critically acclaimed documentary series currently airing on the WWE Network. In that, he recalls a funny encounter with The Undertaker's mother in 2016 shortly before both men were set to clash inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas at the massive AT&T Stadium.
The conversation came as a result of an angle on RAW which saw McMahon throw a stiff shot at The Undertaker which busted him open.
Recalling that the Deadman's mother approached him at a dinner they were both attending, he asked her how she was doing and gave her a hug as they'd met a number of times before. "Then she grabs me with both arms and stands me back," Shane recalls. "She says, in this Texas drawl, 'You know, you’ve always been one of my favorites. However … you hit my son right in his eye and made him bleed. You went down a couple of notches in my book.'"
"She was scolding me for this moment on the last Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania when we were going after each other," he adds, noting that he looked over The Undertaker who was understandably embarrassed by his mom's reaction. McMahon would point out that, "it doesn’t matter how badass you are, there’s going to be a protective mother."
What an exchange, eh?
