Shawn Michaels Just Doesn't Think It's Worth The Hassle Having One More Match In WWE

Shawn Michaels retired from in-ring competition eight years ago and has remained adamant ever since that he won't wrestle again. Despite that, fans still wonder if he could come back for one final WrestleMania dream match and during a recent interview, HBK once again attempted to clear the air by making it clear that while it would no doubt be a lot of fun, it's ultimately just not worth it.

"I always try to explain to people. So if you take me at the younger version and put me in the ring with one of those guys, of course, it would be a blast. But at the same time I’d like to be a younger version of me and being in the ring with Harley Race and Buddy Rogers but none of those things can really happen in real life. That’s the thing I always try to tell people."

Michaels went on to explain that he's happy working in the WWE Performance Center and that the preparation it would take to be ready for a match would be too much at this stage, especially as he'd end up competing against someone who is clearly half his age! He then went on to say that as fun as it is to fantasy book, there's no escaping the fact he's now a different Shawn Michaels.

"Let’s just say I did it and the match was phenomenal. The reality is this hairline is still what it is…the match could be phenomenal but you’re still gonna bust my chops [There is] a lot of stuff and what do you do and even does the young guy — does he benefit that much really when everything is said and done. I don’t know, it just seems like more trouble than it’s worth."
