At Crown Jewel on Friday, Shawn Michaels will compete in a WWE ring for the first time in eight years when he reforms D-Generation X alongside Triple H to do battle with The Undertaker and Kane.
There's been talk for years about HBK coming out of retirement but it's never amounted to anything and so there's obviously a lot of excitement about seeing him in the squared circle. "I’m very thrilled after 30 years being in WWE I’m still having the opportunity to be a part of things that are happening for the first time," he said in regards to DX's first match against the Brothers of Destruction.
Michaels understands that this is a big deal for fans but noted that he's not stressed about it because the match is taking place at a smaller PPV rather than a massive annual event like WrestleMania.
"One of the reasons why I agreed to do it is it didn’t encompass all those things that I feel like a comeback sort of dictates," Michaels said. "It’s a very glorified cheat day." Do you hope this bout leads to even more big matches for the WWE Hall of Famer? Let us know your thoughts below.
