It seems like former NXT Superstar Shayna Baszler was drawing inspiration from a WWE Hall of Famer when she took a bite out of RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch's next last night. Now, though, Dave Meltzer has shared his thoughts on the segment and believes that the whole thing was likely a Paul Heyman idea.
RAW's Executive Director is a huge fan of WWE Hall of Famer Classy Freddie Blassie and Meltzer point out that, "this has to be Heyman because one of the guys who Heyman idolized was Freddie Blassie. This was 1970s Freddie Blassie with the biting and the blood and all of that."
It seems he was correct too as Baszler later posted a photo of Blassie biting his opponent during a match from the 1970s. Clearly, angles done even decades ago can still work in wrestling today providing they're handled the right way. As we've previously reported, the plan is for Baszler to challenge Lynch for her title at WrestleMania.
