Shelton Benjamin Debuted On Last Night's SMACKDOWN LIVE And He Already Has A Tag Team Partner

Shelton Benjamin appeared on SmackDown Live for the first time in a number of years last night and he's already been given a tag team partner! However, what does that mean for his future in the company?

Shelton Benjamin was supposed to debut shortly after the WWE Draft but an unexpected injury brought his new deal to a sudden halt. Well, he's now fighting fit and made his SmackDown Live debut last night in a backstage segment with Daniel Bryan. It turns out that sending Jason Jordan to RAW led to Bryan getting Kurt Angle to convince his old friend to sign with the blue brand.

Now, Benjamin is being paired up with Chad Gable to seemingly reform American Alpha. Their dynamic should be an interesting one to follow but it's hard not wonder what this means for the future.

With Angle and Jordan on RAW and Benjamin and Gable on the other, could a tag team match between the two happen somewhere down the line? It would be a lot of fun but so too would be some sort of Team Angle revival if Kurt does ultimately return to singles action. We'll just have to wait and see but the SmackDown Live tag team division just got a whole lot more exciting...
