Shinsuke Nakamura Admits That His WWE Championchip Feud With AJ Styles Could Have Been Better

On paper it should have been a feud for the ages, but most would agree that Shinsuke Nakamura's recent battles with AJ Styles for the WWE Championship were a tad disappointing - including The Artist himself.

Billed as a "dream match", Shinsuke Nalamura vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania really didn't deliver, and while their subsequent matches were better, the feud is generally considered to be a little disappointing overall.

Turns out, The King of Strong Style feels the same way.

While chatting to TV Insider, the man now known as "The Artist" admitted that the feud could have brought more out of him:

“I wanted to do more for the first time on WWE. I think I could show myself more against AJ. But still, I liked getting the chance against AJ. After WrestleMania I became the heel, but I didn’t show everything. Just a little bit.”

Honestly, had Nak succeeded in winning the title in that final Last Man Standing match it probably would have made a big difference to how fans view the feud, but AJ retaining just put too final a stamp on things.

Still, at least Shinsuke has a different title now. All he needs is a new #1 contender!
