United States champion Shinsuke Nakamura spoke with Gorilla Position during SummerSlam weekend, and opened up about his match with John Cena and the backstage reaction after he accidentally dropped the multi-time world champion on his neck during their bout on Smackdown.

Nakamura did not reveal who it was backstage in WWE that yelled at him following the match, but stated that it wasn’t John Cena.

“Someone was upset backstage, not John Cena,” Nakamura admitted. “But someone. They got pissed off at me, ‘why did you do that?’. So I just thought, my career is finished, today. But everybody came to support me and help me, even John Cena. [Cena said] ‘not your fault, it was my fault’.”

Also during the interview, Nakamura discusses about what he’d do if he wasn’t a wrestler, his favorite NXT moment and several other topics regarding his WWE career thus far.
