The latest edition of SmackDown Live for October 16, 2018 took place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:

— R-Truth and Carmella host an edition of TruthTV. Stephanie McMahon comes out to remind everyone of her history as a general manager for SmackDown. Shane McMahon comes out and trades some barbs with Stephanie over whether Raw is better than SmackDown. Vince McMahon then comes out to basically say he wants a dance break and that's the end of the segment.

— The Usos defeated AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan by pinfall

— Paige, Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, John Laurinaitis just appeared in a quick backstage segment less than 30 seconds long.

— Evolution reunites as Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista all go to the ring for a promo. Orton manages to talk some trash about the other members and tout his accomplishments, like a true heel. Batista really stands out, making a joke about Ric Flair's sex life, thanking the fans, and even teasing a match against Triple H for the future.

— The Miz defeated Rusev by pinfall (due to interference from Aiden English) to qualify for the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel. After the match, Rusev goes on the attack, beating down English.

— The Rated R Superstar hosts The Cutting Edge with Becky Lynch. Edge tries to give Becky some career advice about her behavior as of late, but Becky doesn't want to hear about it, and ends up insulting Edge, talking some trash about his neck injury and really reiterating that she is a heel. The crowd cheers for her anyway. Charlotte Flair comes out and brawls with Becky before they're separated by referees and producers.

— With some help from Big Show, The Bar defeated The New Day by pinfall to win the SmackDown Team Championship!!!

— Rey Mysterio defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall to qualify for the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel

— The Undertaker comes out. He says the same thing he said on Raw: "At Crown Jewel, I have three words for DX. Rest in peace."
