The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown for May 1, 2020 took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Daniel Bryan kicked off the show with a promo about how he knows how important the Money in the Bank briefcase is, as he had won it and cashed in nine years ago. King Corbin came out and, after they exchanged words, they had their match.
— Daniel Bryan defeated King Corbin by disqualification when Corbin used a ladder. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro also attacked Bryan after the match.
— Another Firefly Fun House interrupted Braun Strowman's promo. Bray Wyatt read a story about The Black Sheep, representing Strowman's time in The Wyatt Family. Although Strowman offered Wyatt a chance to head to the ring and settle the score, Wyatt chose to say goodbye and end the segment.
— Sheamus defeated Leon Ruff by pinfall.
— Another Jeff Hardy vignette aired. Next week, he'll be back in action.
— Carmella defeated Mandy Rose by pinfall to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match due in part to a distraction by Sonya Deville, who attacked Rose after the match until referees and officials separated them.
— The Forgotten Sons defeated The New Day by pinfall.
— Otis defeated Dolph Ziggler by pinfall to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
