The latest edition of SmackDown Live for April 30, 2019 took place at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:
— Michael Cole interviewed Kofi Kingston in the ring about his title win and Kevin Owens turning on him. Kofi explained that The New Day gives people second chances, but Owens proved his true colors. He challenged him to a match at Money in the Bank, which Owens accepted. Owens said nobody believes Kofi is championship material. Xavier Woods attacked Owens, but Owens got the better of him.
— Bayley was announced as a member of the women's Money in the Bank match.
— Becky Lynch defeated Bayley by submission. After the match, Charlotte Flair attacked both of them.
— Jeff Hardy's injury will require surgery, so The Hardy Boyz have been forced to vacate the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. This is being pinned on Lars Sullivan, who came out to attack them. R-Truth tried to help, but became another victim.
— The men on SmackDown who will be competing in the Money in the Bank match are Ali, Andrade, Randy Orton and Finn Balor.
— Kairi Sane and Asuka defeated two jobbers by pinfall
— Backstage, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose talked it over and agreed that Rose will enter the Money in the Bank ladder match, not Deville.
— Roman Reigns and Shane McMahon traded verbal barbs, which led to McMahon booking Reigns in a handicap match against The B-Team, with Elias as the special guest enforcer.
— Roman Reigns defeated The B-Team by pinfall
— Ali and Finn Balor defeated Andrade and Randy Orton by pinfall
— The remaining two women in the Money in the Bank ladder match will be Ember Moon and Carmella.
— Kevin Owens hosted an edition of The KO Show with his guest, Xavier Woods, but in action figure form (along with a figure of Big E). Kofi Kingston came out for a fight and nothing really happened of any value or interest.
