The latest edition of SmackDown Live for August 13, 2019 took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Kevin Owens opened the show with a promo on how SummerSlam will go down as a moment he'll remember forever and how winning the King of the Ring tournament would mean just as much to him as the titles he's won. Shane McMahon interrupted to say he will be fining Owens $100,000 for hitting Elias with a steel chair at SummerSlam, because he was an official representative of the company while wearing that referee shirt and acting as the special guest enforcer.
— Charlotte Flair defeated Ember Moon by submission.
— Daniel Bryan claimed innocence for the attack on Roman Reigns, saying that anybody in Buddy Murphy's shoes, being up against a wall and threatened, would have caved and said any name, and Rowan attacked him because he said the wrong name, and they would prove they've had nothing to do with the attacks.
— Roman Reigns defeated Buddy Murphy by pinfall.
— With help from Elias acting as the special guest enforcer and counting a fast pinfall, Samoa Joe defeated Kevin Owens by pinfall.
— Daniel Bryan and Rowan cleared the locker room for everyone but Buddy Murphy and tried to intimidate him to say that he lied. When beaten down and up against a wall, he caved in and said he lied.
— Randy Orton and The Revival defeated The New Day by pinfall
— Daniel Bryan and Rowan tell Roman Reigns that they've been conducting their own investigation on the attacks and will tell him who did it next week.
