The latest edition of SmackDown Live for August 28, 2018 took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Here is a recap of the highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:
— The New Day kick off the show with a celebration for winning their fifth tag team championship last week and are joined by King Booker, who welcomes them to the Five Time (Five Time, Five Time, Five Time, Five Time) Club.
— The Bar defeated The Colons and The Good Brothers by pinfall. They will face the winners of next week's Triple Threat match between Rusev Day, The Usos and SAnitY to determine who faces The New Day at Hell in a Cell for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
— Jeff Hardy cuts a promo on Randy Orton, who comes out and says he plans on taking him out (note: these two just basically repeat what they've been saying). Then, Hardy tells Orton that they're going to face each other in a Hell in a Cell match.
— Billie Kay defeated Naomi by pinfall
— Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella cut a promo on The Miz and Maryse before being interrupted by Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega, who talk some trash. At their behest, Paige makes a match between Bryan and Almas. Daniel Bryan defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas by disqualification after interference from The Miz and Maryse, who take out Brie and Bryan.
— AJ Styles cuts another promo about Samoa Joe (nothing new that he hasn't already said) and Joe pops up on the screen, taunting AJ and talking to his wife on the phone.
— Charlotte Flair retained the SmackDown Women's Championship over Carmella by submission. After the match, Becky Lynch attacks Charlotte and the crowd, who was chanting for Becky the whole match, loves it.
