The latest edition of SmackDown Live for August 6, 2019 took place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:
— Charlotte Flair cut a promo on Trish Stratus and how she'll beat her at SummerSlam. Stratus responded with how she paved the way for Flair and how she'll prove she's still better than her and so on.
— Dolph Ziggler replicated Goldberg's entrance and took out Rey Mysterio before their scheduled match. Ali came out to take the fight to Ziggler for an impromptu replacement match, but Ziggler defeated Ali by pinfall.
— Natalya refused to let go of a Sharpshooter while having that locked in on Ember Moon outside the ring, until Bayley pushed her off Moon to help out.
— Kevin Owens had Shane McMahon on The Kevin Owens Show. Owens suggested McMahon should also put his career on the line, but McMahon wasn't into that idea. He and Elias double-teamed Owens.
— Aleister Black accepted Sami Zayn's challenge for a fight. However, instead of having that at SummerSlam, Black said it was happening "now." Black then defeated Zayn by pinfall.
— Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor was hyped through a Firefly Fun House segment.
— Big E and Xavier Woods defeated Daniel Bryan and Rowan by disqualification.
— Roman Reigns cleared the locker room from everyone but Buddy Murphy, who was there for the forklift incident. After beating down and interrogating Murphy, he got a name out of him that he saw Rowan do it.
