The latest edition of SmackDown Live for December 18, 2018 took place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:
— Shane McMahon starts the show with the SmackDown roster, telling them that Paige is no longer the general manager but she'll still be around, keeping everything vague.
— Becky Lynch heads to the ring and cuts a promo on Ronda Rousey screwing her out of her match at TLC. Charlotte Flair interrupts to say she was the one who was going to win. This prompts Asuka to come out to gloat that she's the new champion and finally, Vince McMahon's had enough. He tells Becky and Charlotte that they knew what type of match they were in and they should stop complaining and take out their frustrations on Rousey. He then sets up Asuka for a title defense against Naomi.
— Asuka defeated Naomi to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship
— The Miz knocks on the dressing room door of The McMahon Family. Vince tells him Shane can't come out to play, but after The Miz asks for his blessing to have Shane as a tag team partner, Vince tells him he'll set him up for a tag team match later.
— Jeff Hardy cuts a promo. Samoa Joe comes out to say Hardy needs an intervention. They end up fighting temporarily and Hardy ends up on top.
— The Miz and Mandy Rose defeated R-Truth and Carmella by pinfall
— The Usos vs. The Good Brothers ends with SAnitY attacking both teams to make a statement to The Bar. Then, The Bar attack The Usos and The Good Brothers, too.
— Mustafa Ali and AJ Styles defeated Daniel Bryan and Andrade "Cien" Almas by pinfall (Ali pins Bryan)
