The latest edition of SmackDown Live for February 26, 2019 took place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.
Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:
— The contract signing between Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston kicks off the show. Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon hype up Kofi's accomplishments. As Kofi is about to sign the contract, Vince McMahon interrupts to say its his responsibility to set up the biggest box office matches possible, so he's replacing Kofi with Kevin Owens. Backstage after the commercial break, Owens asks Shane and Stephanie if he can team with Kingston against Bryan and Rowan.
— The Hardy Boyz defeated The Bar by pinfall
— Inspired by his "childhood idol" John Cena, R-Truth reinstates the United States Championship Open Challenge. Both Andrade and Rey Mysterio answer the call and Carmella suggests a Triple Threat match, which is what Cena would do. R-Truth retained the United States title over both by pinfall.
— Charlotte Flair addressed what happened on Raw, saying she would never have laid down the title like Ronda Rousey and she's the gold standard, better than both Rousey and Becky Lynch, so on and so forth. She'll be on next Monday's Raw, thinking that she deserves to be crowned the Raw women's champion by default.
— Aleister Black and Ricochet defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev by pinfall
— In a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, AJ Styles talks about how he needs to get out of his slump to once again prove that SmackDown is the house that he built. Randy Orton pops up to dismiss the idea.
— Kofi Kingston and Kevin Owens defeated Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan by pinfall
