The latest edition of SmackDown Live for January 29, 2019 took place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, AZ.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:

— Becky Lynch kicked off the show with a promo on her Royal Rumble victory and upcoming match against Ronda Rousey. She's interrupted by Charlotte Flair and before long, the two are fighting each other.

— R-Truth defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall to win the United States Championship!

— After the match, Rusev came out to challenge R-Truth to a title match. R-Truth defeated Rusev by pinfall to retain the United States Championship. After that match, R-Truth is attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, who team up against him.

— Before his match against Samoa Joe can begin, Rey Mysterio is jumped from behind by Andrade.

— Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows chastise Rusev for his actions against R-Truth and challenge him and Shinsuke Nakamura to a tag team match.

— Shane McMahon surprises The Miz by having his dad come out to say he's proud of him and he loves him. He also announces a No. 1 contender's match between The Bar, The Usos, Heavy Machinery and The New Day.

— Backstage, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville declare their participation in the Women's Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match. Mandy also clarifies why she hates Naomi, which is that when she was in Tough Enough, Naomi called her weak and supposedly said mean things, which made her so upset that her boyfriend dumped her.

— Four Corners Elimination Tag Team Match: The Usos defeated Heavy Machinery, The New Day and The Bar to earn a title shot against Shane McMahon and The Miz at Elimination Chamber.

— Daniel Bryan replaces the WWE Championship belt with one that has no leather and is made out of oak and hemp, tossing the current one in the trash can. AJ Styles comes out, followed by Randy Orton, followed by Jeff Hardy, followed by Mustafa Ali, followed by Samoa Joe. A brawl ensues and Triple H announces that Bryan will defend the WWE Championship against all of them in the Elimination Chamber match.
