The latest edition of SmackDown Live for July 16, 2019 took place at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Shane McMahon kicked Kevin Owens out of the arena before the "town hall" meeting. Roman Reigns complained about McMahon. Charlotte Flair sucked up until she was cut off by Liv Morgan. Buddy Murphy said Owens should keep his name out of his mouth or he'll slap it out of his mouth. Apollo Crews said everybody agrees with what Owens is saying, and he was cut off by Zelina Vega and Andrade, who told him to prove himself in the ring. Elias was interrupted by The New Day, who had their microphone cut off. Cesaro then challenged Aleister Black to a fight when the meeting was adjourned. Owens popped up in the ring and gave McMahon a stunner.

— Aleister Black defeated Cesaro by pinfall.

Charlotte Flair defeated Liv Morgan by submission. After the match, Morgan grabbed the headset from Corey Graves and said Flair was right about her and that when she returns, she's going to be "real."

Ember Moon and Bayley defeated Fire and Desire (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) by pinfall. After the match, Bayley put out the idea that Moon should be her next challenger for the title at SummerSlam, and Moon accepted.

— Backstage, Shinsuke Nakamura talked about how he'll cause chaos as intercontinental champion. Ali "congratulated" him, alluding to how he'll likely be in line for a title shot.

— The New Day cut a promo about all of them being champions. Daniel Bryan and Rowan kept coming out and leaving without saying anything. Ultimately, Samoa Joe, Elias and Randy Orton all came out to put their names in the hat for a shot against Kofi Kingston's WWE Championship, which set up a six-man tag team match. Randy Orton, Samoa Joe and Elias defeated The New Day by pinfall with Orton pinning Kingston.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) defeated The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) by count out, so no title change happened.

— Apollo Crews defeated Andrade by pinfall

— Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens ends in chaos with Owens hitting another stunner on McMahon and running off.
