The latest edition of SmackDown Live for July 17, 2018 took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Here is a recap of the highlights from this episode for those who may have missed it:
— AJ Styles defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas by submission
— Backstage, Aiden English apologized to Lana for what happened at Extreme Rules, saying he owes a lot to Rusev. Lana responded (without her accent) that they'll take his apology into consideration.
— Becky Lynch defeated Mandy Rose by submission. After the match, she cut a promo about how she's coming for Carmella. Backstage, Paige agrees to giving Carmella another Mellabration, if she's able to win against Becky next week. If Becky wins, she gets a shot at Carmella's title at SummerSlam.
— Samoe Joe defeated Tye Dillinger by submission
— The Miz holds a "eulogy" for Team Hell No, running down their history and failures, before saying that Daniel Bryan's return to in-ring action has been a total bust and he's the only person willing to tell him. Daniel Bryan comes out to attack The Miz, but The Miz escapes.
— Eric Young defeated Kofi Kingston by pinfall
— Next week, there will be an announcement by Paige regarding AJ Styles and the WWE Championship challenger for SummerSlam.
— Shinsuke Nakamura retained the United States Championship over Jeff Hardy, but lost by disqualification after interference from Randy Orton, who said Hardy will have to wait to find out why he's doing that.
