As was previously reported, it looks like SmackDown Live will indeed be shifting to Fox in Fall 2019 as WWE and Fox Sports are reportedly closing negotiations to make the deal a reality. Apparently, the plan right now is for RAW to remain on USA and this move obviously leaves us with a lot of questions, especially as the two shows will now air on completely different networks moving forward.
Will the Brand Split be brought to an end as SmackDown Live becomes RAW-lite as it was for so many years and will air live on a Friday or be pre-recorded on a Tuesday as it used to be?
We don't know as of right now but it would be a shame to see any of those options become a reality, especially as the show has arguably been better than RAW ever since the Draft took place. It's just hard to imagine WWE splitting its roster across two networks and it ultimately hinges on how much effort they plan on putting into the show now it will have such a high-profile new home.
With any luck, it will be a lot because this isn't like the past when SmackDown aired on Syfy and Spike. What do you think? As always, stay tuned for further updates as we have them.
