The holidays are over and with no real competition from sports or politics, things are looking up for WWE in terms of viewership. This Tuesday's SmackDown Live managed to draw a total of 2,143,000 viewers which is an increase of 111,000 viewers from the week before. This number is pretty much in the neighbourhood of what the blue brand has been averaging since last October so it's solid.
SmackDown Live was the eighth most-watched show on cable on Tuesday and with next week's episode the last one before the Royal Rumble PPV, you can imagine ratings once again increasing.
This October, the show will make the leap to FOX and that's going to transform it into WWE's A show above even RAW. There's already been talk of Ronda Rousey appearing there instead of on the "flagship" brand and plans should start becoming a little clearer later this year. Ratings will be extremely important for WWE there, especially as FOX has paid such a huge amount of money for it.
