SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Dipped This Week Despite That Big News About The Show's Move To Fox

You'd think that the news WWE is sending SmackDown Live to Fox next year would have increased interest in this Tuesday's edition of the show but ratings actually dipped due to some strong competition on cable.

Despite WWE hyping up a number of segments and a main event featuring Daniel Bryan vs. Jeff Hardy for the first time ever, this week's episode of SmackDown Live dropped 100,000 viewers from last week's episode despite the fact that was a pre-taped show from the UK. In total, it managed to do 2,195,000 viewers, a figure which, as we've noted, was down from 2,298,000 viewers on the 15th.

It was up against the NBA so this news probably shouldn't come as a huge surprise but you'd think there would be at least a little more interest in the blue brand after that Fox deal was made official.

Realistically speaking, though, viewership for SmackDown Live is likely to remain around the same as it is now until it makes the move to Fox, a broadcast channel which guarantees that we'll see more eyes on the show.
