SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Dropped Slightly This Week Despite A Championship Main Event

There was a lot to love about this past Tuesday's episode of SmackDown Live but ratings still took a very slight dip for what was essentially a filler instalment between SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell...

On SmackDown Live this week, Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella main evented the show and more storylines were developed in the run up to the Hell in a Cell PPV. Despite that, it still felt like a filler episode as those storylines didn't really move forward as much as they probably should have (did we really need to see Samoa Joe insult AJ Styles' family again?) but ratings still weren't all that bad.

In total, SmackDown Live drew 2,350,000 viewers. That's down from last week's 2,437,000 viewers but not a bad enough result to result in any cause for concern and was actually to be expected.

After all, last week's instalment came immediately after SummerSlam so there was bound to be a little more interest than normal. We don't know much about what to expect from next Tuesday's show but expect WWE to make some announcements in the coming days in order to build some excitement.
