SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Dropped This Week Despite Goldberg's First-Ever Appearance On The Show

Tuesday night's episode of SmackDown Live may have featured Goldberg on the blue brand for the first time in the show's history but that didn't help ratings because they once again dropped. Check it out!

WWE has been doing everything in its power to increase ratings but SmackDown Live remains on the decline.

Despite heavily promoting an appearance from WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg beforehand, viewership numbers for the blue brand were still down from the week before and it seem as if the WCW legend's appearance simply wasn't enough to generate a significant amount of interest.

SmackDown Live drew only 2.016 million viewers, a drop from last Tuesday's 2.072 million viewers. As we previously reported, RAW ratings did increase this week but it's hard not to wonder whether the "Wild Card" rule might have driven some fans away from the blue brand because it was previously considered a superior show with a greater focus on wrestling.

That has not been the case in recent weeks.

Time will tell how WWE will respond to this but it's probably not a big enough drop to worry the company too much.
