SMACKDOWN LIVE Ratings Plummeted Thanks To The President's State Of The Union Address

If you're wondering why this week's SmackDown Live felt like pure filler, it's because the show was up against the President's State of the Union address. As a result of that, ratings didn't do at all well.

Unfortunately for WWE, this week's episode of SmackDown Live suffered another big viewership drop. It was watched by a total of 1,841,000 viewers and that's a fairly significant drop from the previous Tuesday's 2,137,000 viewers. The main reason for this surprising crash is because President Donald Trump's State of the Union address dominated ratings on multiple networks like FOX News.

It was a mostly decent show, with
a main event pitting Daniel Bryan against Jeff Hardy and a bizarre confrontation between Becky Lynch and Triple H in which the latter essentially buried the Irish Lass Kicker and told the WWE Universe that their conversation had nothing to do with them...just weeks after saying that RAW and SmackDown Live are their shows. No wonder people tuned out!
