This week's SmackDown Live featured a tense confrontation between Shane McMahon and Sami Zayn as well as a main event featuring the latter battling Randy Orton for a spot at Survivor Series. We also saw AJ Styles battle Sunil Singh and a Fatal 5-Way match with the women's division battling for the opportunity to captain their team at the upcoming PPV which takes place in November.

Between that and the fallout from RAW the night before which saw SmackDown Live Superstars put the show #UnderSiege, ratings surged from last week's 2.320 million viewers and rose to 2.699 million viewers. That's actually higher than what the flagship show did last Monday but lower than this week's 2.953 million. The shows are getting closer which is great news for SmackDown Live
