I think its safe to say that Smackdown hasn’t done much with Shelton Benjamin since his split with Chad Gable back in the draft.

Yesterday, Shelton Benjamin called out SmackDown General Manager Paige to get him off the bench and let him fight. Benjamin's last match on SmackDown was in a loss to Jeff Hardy on August 14. As of this writing, Benjamin hasn't received a response.

The wrestling veteran returned to the company back in August last year and was put into a tag team with the former American Alpha star.

Gable and Benjamin got a little push back around the Royal Rumble, but once the Usos defeated the duo then their challenger of the month card was taken away and he's made sporadic appearances since then. The veteran can easily help the young stars in the ring, like Shinsuke Nakamura, who’s clearly directionless despite being the United States champion.
