SMACKDOWN LIVE's Ratings Dipped Again Despite Dolph Ziggler's Return And FASTLANE Build-Up

This week's episode of SmackDown Live featured the return of Dolph Ziggler and some pretty major ramifications for the upcoming Fastlane PPV. However, that sadly didn't translate into improved ratings.

SmackDown Live ratings have been steadily declining ever since the New Year, a troubling sign for a show which was close to beating RAW not too long ago. After starting 2018 off with 2,720,000 viewers, the show did 2,449,00 viewers this Tuesday, a figure which is down from last week's 2,505,000 viewers. That's a pretty disappointing figure considering the show revolved around the build-up to Fastlane.

Of course, it probably doesn't help that there was no sign of AJ Styles or Shinsuke Nakamura, while the show is still revolving around the now
quite stale storyline featuring Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

On the plus side, this week's SmackDown Live was ranked second in the top 150 shows on cable for the night. It remains to be seen how WWE and Vince McMahon will respond to these numbers or whether or not they view this decline as a problem. The show definitely needs a shake-up, though, so we'll have to wait and see. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments section below.
