SMACKDOWN Ratings Fell Again But It Remains The Most-Watched Wrestling Show On Television

As Friday Night SmackDown settles in on FOX, ratings for the show continue to drop and it appears as if the numbers won't be anywhere near as big as expected moving forward. Hit the jump for details...

Following the premiere and the WWE Draft, this past Friday's episode of SmackDown was the first normal instalment of the show on FOX. Now, the ratings are in and it's confirmed that the blue brand drew a total of 2.418 million viewers.

That's a drop from the previous Friday's 2.877 million viewers and while it's an improvement over what SmackDown did on USA, it's not that much ahead of the numbers RAW draws on a weekly basis.

WWE and FOX must have been hoping that SmackDown would reach at least over 3 million viewers per week but that's clearly not going to happen. Friday's effort was quite by the numbers and it didn't have the same "big show" feel as the first episode. The WWE Draft was widely considered a disappointment given how it was handled too.

With this week's SmackDown airing on FOX Sports 1, it should be interesting seeing what happens from here.
