SMACKDOWN "Throwback" Episode To Feature Cesaro Vs. Seth Rollins Rematch & Major Daniel Bryan Update

Tonight's special "Throwback" episode of SmackDown will see Cesaro take on Seth Rollins in a highly-anticipated WrestleMania rematch, and we should also get an update on Daniel Bryan's status with WWE.

Fans have been wondering about Daniel Bryan's future (or lack thereof) with WWE since he lost to Roman Reigns last week and was forced to leave SmackDown for good. This was a storyline stipulation, of course, but it came to light shortly after that his contact had expired.

There have been rumors swirling all week, but tonight's episode of the blue brand is expected to give us an update about the mega-popular Superstar's status with the company. Will he re-sign, or is he AEW-bound? We reckon the most likely scenario is Bryan taking some time off and staying put, but we'll just have to see how things pan out.

SmackDown will also see a rematch between Cesaro and Seth Rollins. The Swiss Superman silenced his doubters with a massive win over Rollins at WrestleMania, and now looks set to move on to Roman Reigns and a shot at the Universal Championship. Can he defeat "The Architect" twice in a row to earn that opportunity? Tune in later tonight to find out.

Since this is a "throwback" episode, we can probably also expect lots of retro-style shenanigans and maybe even a few surprise guests, though nothing has been announced thus far.
