WrestleMania is taking place over two nights from multiple locations, but the Show of Shows is going to be taped in advance and will be quite a bit different to what WWE originally had planned. Now, in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed that a number of matches are unlikely to take place as previously planned.
While last week's RAW pointed to Rey Mysterio challenging Andrade for the United States Championship at the Show of Shows, that's not locked in. Neither is Asuka and Kairi Sane defending the Women's Tag Team Championships against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (originally, the plan was for Natalya and Beth Phoenix to also be included in the Triple Threat tag team match).
There are also currently no plans for the RAW Tag Team Championships to be defended, but either The New Day or The Usos will likely face The Miz and John Morrison for the SmackDown Tag Team titles.
Oh, and as previously reported, there are still no plans for any Battle Royals to take place!
With WWE taping WrestleMania this week, chances are plans will become clear soon, but the card not being as big as it once was definitely makes sense considering how different the PPV is now going to be.
