I think it’s safe to stay that the wedding between Lana and Bobby Lashley was the very definition of sports entertainment.
However, the most talked about moment during the entire segment was Liv Morgan declaring her love for the “Ravishing Russian”. It was a total shocker to many fans and critics, who are divided on the overall main event segment.
One of the talents who is speechless over Liv Morgan revealing herself as a lesbian is Sonya Deville, who’s WWE’s first openly gay female wrestler, and Mandy Rose. Both Smackdown stars expressed their views over the revelation on social media:
During an episode of Total Divas, Deville revealed that she’s been pitching an LGBTQ storyline in the WWE (transcript courtesy of fightful.com):
"I'm going through this kind of evolution process in my life where I'm coming into my own and figuring out who I want to be. I'm starting to feel comfortable with who I am. I'm finding my style and it's a great feeling. Mandy and I are meeting with the producers to pitch the first-ever LGBTQ storyline in the WWE. This is Mandy and I's moment -- this is where we prove ourselves. The story of my life. I'm the comeback kid. I always start as the underdog, but I'm confident that I'll prevail," Deville said.
The storyline was seemingly a go when it was teased in one episode of Smackdown that an intimate storyline between Rose and Deville was developing, with the latter looking lovingly at Rose and touching her hair after a match; however, the storyline was quickly dropped and the moment between the two Smackdown stars was never followed up on.
There’s no word yet on what’s expected to happen with Liv Morgan going forward; however, hopefully creative gives the storyline the proper respect it deserves.
