During a recent appearance on WWE's The Bump, Sonya Deville appeared to talk about her former friendship with Mandy Rose and, as you might expect, she had nothing good to say about the one-time other half of Fire and Desire. In fact, the former MMA fighter made it clear that Rose is someone she has never been able to rely on.
"If you look back at mine and Mandy’s relationship in WWE? Hindsight is always 2020," Sonya started. "If you look back to the relationship between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville? Everything has always been about Mandy."
Deville elaborated on that point, explaining, "she’s been selfish from day one, it’s always been the Mandy show, it’s always has been. I’ve always played second fiddle, and it’s not by choice but it’s just what happens when you’re around Mandy Rose. She can’t be in a room and not be the center of attention."
Interestingly, Deville would go on to track their issues back to last year when she gave Rose that final spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match. "So, a moment, a specific moment in time? I mean, I would say maybe when I carried her up the ladder in Money In The Bank last year," Deville revealed. "And she still COULDN’T grab the belt and wasn’t grateful that I gave her my opportunity in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Which, by the way? Very dumb decision, would never do that again but you know you live and you learn."
It looks like this rivalry will continue throughout the summer, and if WWE also plays on this history, it could prove to be seriously compelling.
