In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Metlzer mentioned that SmackDown Superstar Sonya Deville is looking to break into Hollywood. Apparently, he's now being represented by Anderson Group Public Relations, and is hoping to land some big acting roles.
Among them is Batwoman on The CW, and during a recent interview with TV Insider, Deville alluded to her aspirations to suit up as the DC Comics superhero.
"Ruby Rose being a member of the LGBTQ community and being Batwoman, I remember when I heard she got the role," she explained. "I was so excited. I thought it was huge and inspiring. When I saw she stepped out, I was like, ‘This is a no-brainer. I can do my own moves. I fit the role. We can also keep on the message you can be a woman. You can be gay. You can be a superhero.’ I think it speaks for itself. It’s definitely a dream role. I’m going to continue my social media campaign. I like to speak things into the universe because you have to believe it for it to be possible."
In recent weeks, Deville has been feuding with Mandy Rose on SmackDown, and Meltzer notes that she's been receiving high praise for stepping up her character work, particularly in some recent promos. If she were to land a role like Batwoman, then it's hard to say what sort of impact that would have on her in-ring career.
