As we told you yesterday, Charlotte Flair caused chaos at SmackDown on Friday night after deciding to drop the RAW Women's Championship when Becky Lynch reached out to grab it. That may sound minor, but it wasn't how the segment was scripted, and it's thought The Queen went into business for herself in order to protect her character's image.
Lynch had a verbal confrontation with Flair backstage, with the latter escorted out of the building by security. Now, PWInsider is reporting that Sonya Deville - who had also been involved in the angle - was so angry with Flair that she was "mad enough to want to fight Flair" before being cooled down. Apparently, she had an argument with the champion at the show as well.
WWE has since edited out Flair dropping the title and Deville did look visibly annoyed when she told The Queen to pick the belt up during the segment.
The site points out that this is the latest issue with Flair; that disastrous match with Nia Jax which saw the women actually start fighting each other was another. The feeling in WWE right now is that Flair has become too worried about protecting herself and wanting to make sure she receives the limelight.
There has been a lot of chatter about Flair making the leap to AEW, while other outlets are reporting WWE is unsure how to punish her given how vital she is to the women's division.
It will be interesting seeing whether this is referenced during Friday's SmackDown.
