Has Lacey Evans' time in WWE reached its end?

When the company brought her up to the main roster with the Southern Belle gimmick she had in NXT, there was a lot of excitement among fans. Unfortunately, with Vince McMahon's input, that didn't really work, and it was all downhill from there once Lacey was put into a feud against Charlotte Flair that seemed to suggest she was romantically involved with her father, Ric Flair.

Prior to his shock departure from WWE, Vince McMahon's big idea was for Lacey to tell WWE fans about her difficult upbringing.

While the videos were a little cheesy, they did seem to resonate with fans, and the former real-life Marine was able to return to cheers as a babyface...before almost immediately turning heel. It made zero sense, and once Triple H was put in charge, Lacey was quickly sidelined.

More video packages followed and Lacey's latest gimmick has been a rip-off of Sargeant Slaughter. Again, though, we've rarely seen her on television and all signs now point to her having left WWE.

Not only has she begun using her real name, Macey Estrella, on social media, but she's also changed her Twitter and Instagram bios to read, "FKA [Formerly Known As] WWE Superstar Lacey Evans."

After replying to a fan who thanked her for the work she did with WWE, she'd later add: "When the clock strikes 12, you will address me as Macey Estrella from here on out."

It's unclear whether her contract has simply run out and not been renewed or if she might have asked for her release. Either way, all signs point to Lacey Evans being done with WWE, no great surprise given how she's been booked over the past few years.

Throw in a public tiff with WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter and his daughter, some controversial social media comments about depression, and the fact we haven't seen her since June, and the writing has perhaps been on the wall for some time now.

We'll let you know if WWE comments, but you can check out one of Evans' social media posts below.
