AJ Styles is your new WWE Champion. SmackDown Live has just finished taping in Manchester, England, and The Phenomenal One defeated Jinder Mahal cleanly in the middle of the ring after hitting his Phenomenal Forearm. This marks the first time the title has changed hands outside of North America and means that Styles will now face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in two weeks.
That's a dream match but there is, of course, a chance Mahal could win it back in a rematch next Tuesday. However, it seems far more likely he'll end up winning the title back on WWE's Indian tour.
Either way, this is an unexpected move from WWE and one which signals big changes for SmackDown Live. Styles is now a two-time WWE Champion and we'll obviously be able to see more from the show when it airs later tonight. After all, despite now knowing that Styles emerges victorious, it will be an awful lot of fun seeing him finally dethrone Mahal to claim WWE's top prize!
