SmackDown Live will be moving to FOX next year and that means WWE will have a bigger audience in 2019 than ever before. As a result, it's no great surprise that the company has big ambitions moving forward and during a recent "Web Summit" in Portugal, Stephanie McMahon said that she would like to see the global brand expand to be as big as Disney over the next ten to thirty years.
"10-20-30 years from now, there’s no reason we can’t be as big [as] or bigger than Disney," she said. "Now that’s a tall order, especially given recent transactions. However, there’s no reason why we can’t get there. You have to dream big, have big, bold goals, and go after them."
You can't fault ambition like this and at least McMahon acknowledges what a challenge that will be. After all, WWE's market cap is $5.8 billion compared to Disney's $172.7 billion! Despite that, if WWE plays its cards right over the coming years, there's nothing to say the business can't expand in a big way.
