Stephanie McMahon Talks More About WWE's Plans For An All-Female ROYAL RUMBLE Match
On this Monday's episode of RAW, Stephanie McMahon revealed that next year's Royal Rumble PPV will feature an all-female Royal Rumble match. Now, she's elaborated on why now is the right time for that...
The women's revolution got off to a rather slow start but as time has passed, we've seen the former Divas treated the same was as WWE's male superstars. As a result, they've been allowed to compete in many different styles of match and headlined RAW, SmackDown Live, and a number of PPVs. Now, it's been confirmed that they'll compete in a Royal Rumble match next month.
During a recent interview promoting the PPV match, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon talked about why she thinks the match is important and her expectations for the sure to be epic clash.
"I think that it’s long overdue. There’s been an incredible movement that’s been happening in our business that started nearly three years ago. They’ve been regularly headlining television and pay-per-view events, including their first-ever Hell in a Cell match and first-ever women’s Money in the Bank match. Now, for the first time ever, we’re going to have a women’s Royal Rumble match. Every time our women have had the chance to perform and headline, they have over-delivered, and I have absolutely every confidence that they will do the same thing at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 28. I think that it will be incredibly memorable, I think that they will over-deliver, and I think that fans will get more than their money’s worth."
One of the best things about an all-female Royal Rumble match is the fact it means we're finally going to get a singles match for the Women's Championship at WrestleMania. Speculation is running rampant that Ronda Rousey will win to challenge Charlotte at the Showcase of the Immortals but we're obviously going to have to wait and see. What do you guys think of these comments?
