Last week, Stephanie Vaquer successfully retained both the NXT Women's Championship over Jaida Parker and the NXT Women's North American Championship over Fallon Henley. On tonight's episode of WWE NXT, the double champion started off the show alongside NXT General Manager Ava, who made the announcement that despite how Vaquer proved herself to truly be La Primera, having her stay holding both championships isn't the best thing for the women's division.
Instead, it's better for her to vacate one of those titles to allow more room for the rest of the division to win it and defend it, so Vaquer is no longer the NXT women's North American champion.
To crown the next champion, there will be a ladder match for the vacated title at the upcoming WWE Stand & Deliver premium live event on WrestleMania weekend (specifically April 19, 2025 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada). Qualifying matches will determine the six women competing in that match.
But before those were established, Vaquer made it known that she's vacating her title under the condition that she gets to pick her challenger for the NXT Women's Championship at that pay-per-view. As a result, Jordynne Grace came out to plead her case for how she deserves a shot at the title, only for Jaida Parker to interrupt and do the same, making the argument that if Grace hadn't interfered, she'd have beaten Vaquer last week.
Vaquer told the two of them to settle it out between them, which then sparked a fight between them.
Later in the show, the first qualifying match took place, wherein Zaria defeated Lash Legend by pinfall to earn the first spot in the match.
Later still, Kelani Jordan was backstage talking to Ava about the opportunity when Roxanne Perez interrupted to gloat about how she's going to win it and complete the trifecta of women's titles in NXT (having already held the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship and the NXT Women's Championship), which would actually make her the first Triple Crown winner under that grouping of titles in WWE history.
Jordan would go on to defeat Perez to earn that second spot. The remaining four women have yet to be determined, as the qualifying matches haven't even been announced other than that next week, Sol Ruca will be in one of the matches.
