Before he was forced to retire, wrestling fans had everything crossed that a match pitting Sting against The Undertaker would become a reality at WrestleMania. Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed when he was injured in a match with Seth Rollins but during a recent interview, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he too was planning on pushing for a match against the legendary Deadman.
"I think that if I could have made it through that last match with Seth, I was really going to push hard to see if I could get that WrestleMania [program] with Taker," he revealed. "I had so many ideas that developed over a couple of decades based on his character and my character and some of the ideas I had in my head." It sounds like he had something very unique planned then.
"Someday, someone’s going to do some pretty cool stuff like that with characters that are similar, and it all has to do with sleight of hand, and special effects, and holograms… Oh man, I had some ideas that would’ve rocked everybody. It would have matched his character and mine. And I believe it would leave people with their jaws open. They would’ve been very entertained."
It's a shame that this didn't become a reality because it would have been extraordinary to see a WCW legend go toe to toe with a WWE one like this, especially when they have such iconic personas.
