Sting's WWE debut was incredibly exciting but it ended up being relatively short-lived. While he had a WrestleMania match with Triple H, it was when he faced Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship that the ageing Superstar suffered an injury which brought his wrestling career to a halt. It was, of course, shortly after that he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and announced his retirement.
Despite all of that, fans have remained hopeful that we'll see Sting in at least one more match and that his opponent will be The Undertaker. However, between his injuries, and The Undertaker's failing health/apparent retirement at WrestleMania, is it ever really going to happen? Well, when Sting managed to grab The Undertaker for a chat, the conversation didn't really go as well as you might think.
"We’ve had a brief conversation, and I just told him, I said, man, I just always wanted to have that match. It wasn’t necessarily reciprocated so I’m not sure where he stands or if he had any interest at all, to be quite honest. But I did. I don’t mind saying." So, the door is open but...well, not very far! As cool as it would have been to see, this is one match we'll just have to dream about.
