Last night's episode of SmackDown opened with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as a guest on "The Grayson Waller Show."
With the American Nightmare set to defend his title against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin, Waller tried to drive a wedge between the two friends by reminding Rhodes of the many times KO has turned on his allies. The champion responded to that by reminding him how often he's sacrificed Austin Theory to save his own skin.
A tag team match was set for the main event, but miscommunication between Rhodes and Owens saw the latter shoved into his partner by Waller.
Later in the evening, the two teams squared off with Rhodes and Owens picking up the win over A-Town Down Under...after KO put Waller away with a powerbomb. After the match, it looked like Owens was about to hit Rhodes with the title, but he instead shoved it into his partner's hands before talking smack at their opponents.
As you might imagine, Rhodes looks a little...concerned.
Elsewhere on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa said the OTC, Roman Reigns, is D-O-N-E after The Bloodline beat him down last week. The new Tribal Chief said he plans to take the world title from whoever wins out of Rhodes and Owens and then made a big change to the group.
With Jacob Fatu nursing an injury, he gave his half of the WWE Tag Team Championships to Tonga Loa, making him and Tama Tonga the champs. However, Solo also named Fatu his own personal enforcer, another interesting wrinkle in this ongoing storyline.
