Before Night Two of WrestleMania 36 took place, fans had a chance to relive the entire broadcast of WrestleMania 35.
Held inside MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the four hour pay-per-view (minus the pre-show) featured Seth Rollins slaying “The Beast” and capturing the Universal Championship, Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship in a very emotional moment, and Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat match for the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships.
The show produced 421,000 viewers for ESPN, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number is considerably lower than the airing of WrestleMania 32 – which delivered 720,000 viewers – and WrestleMania 30 – which delivered 839,000 viewers-; however, this is still considered a victory as WrestleMania 36 took place later on at 7pm Eastern Time. Obviously, fans didn’t want to overload on wrestling so a lot of them decided to skip the showing of last year’s big event.
At the moment, there’s no upcoming WWE events scheduled to air on the network as the deal was for ESPN to air three past WrestleMania shows leading up to 36.
