The Big Show recently sat down with Stone Cold Steve Austin to discuss his career and touched on a number of topics, including his current health situation. Apparently, The World's Largest Athlete is feeling better now than ever before and he says that his range of motion has improved and his weight loss means he's actually more agile than when we've previously seen him wrestle.
Speaking of The Big Show's weight, he looked back on WrestleMania 21 and recalled a story about why Vince McMahon was upset with him for being heavier than sumo champion Akebono Taro.
"I think my heaviest I was 537 lbs when I did that match with Akebono, I think Akebono, for a shoot, weighed 488 [lbs.] and I weighed 509 [lbs.] because I remember Vince being pissed at me because Akebono was supposed to weigh more than me. And [McMahon] looks at me and goes, '509 lbs.?' He shook his head and walked off. I was like, 'I'm a quarter-ton of fun! What do you want me to say?'"
As for when we'll see The Big Show return to WWE for what will presumably be his final run, he said: "Hopefully soon. I know this month, I've got a lot of commitments as far as the Special Olympics. I'm getting ready for the USA Games on July 1st in Seattle [Washington]. I'm looking forward to that. I'm visiting with a lot of athletes in different states now."
There's still a fair bit The Big Show could do in the company, so here's hoping WWE comes up with something good for him before he decides to hang up his wrestling boots for good.
