The Charges Against The Driver Responsible For The Death Of Jim Ross' Wife Have Been Dismissed

One of the most shocking and upsetting stories of 2017 was the sudden and tragic death of Jim Ross' wife, Jan. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has taken to social media to share some very unexpected news...

Last year, Jim Ross' wife Jan was hit by a 17-year-old driver who hit her while she was driving her moped because he was checking his phone at the time. She wasn't wearing a helmet and suffered multiple skull fractures before being taken to hospital and dying shortly after. Jan was well-liked in the wrestling community and her passing was mourned by those in the business.

It obviously hit Jim harder than anyone and the WWE commentator has taken to Twitter to reveal that the charges against the teenager have now been dropped and he won't even lose his license.

That's genuinely shocking, especially as he was at fault. The judge presumably didn't want to put him behind bars for what was ultimately a horrible accident and Jan not wearing a helmet could have factored into his decision. That's not going to make this any easier for Jim, though, and it now remains to be seen what happens next. As always, be sure to stay tuned for updates.
