"The Fiend" Bray Wyatt defeated Braun Strowman in a Falls Count Anywhere match at SummerSlam to recapture the Universal Championship, but the bigger story is the long-awaited return of Roman Reigns.
The Monster Among Men hit his opponent with everything he had, but The Fiend simply wouldn't stay down. In the end, Strowman grabbed a box cutter and tore up the ring mats to expose the wooden planks underneath. This backfired, however, as Wyatt hit a Urinagi and a pair of Sister Abigails on the hard surface to score the pinfall victory and claim the title.
As he was about the raise the gold, The Big Dog rushed the ring and broke Bray in half with a spear. He then turned his attention to Braun, wearing him out with a steel chair. Reigns then returned to the ring and landed another spear on the Fiend for good measure.
It's great to see Roman back, and he's clearly going to be coming after (and winning, no doubt) the Universal Championship. Is he a heel of a babyface? Well, since we're not really sure what category Wyatt and Strowman fall into, it's difficult to tell. WWE simply doesn't seem to care about making that distinction... at least not in this scenario.
We're glad The Fiend regained the title, but how long he'll get to hold on to it for now that The Big Dog has returned to his yard remains to be seen.
