TJP was being lined up as the face of WWE's Cruiserweight division after winning the first-ever Cruiserweight Classic and the rebooted title but fans never really got behind him and he's quickly slipped down the ranks as part of 205 Live.
In recent months, he's made no secret of the fact he's not happy with his position in WWE and the company has now confirmed that he's been released with the following statement: "WWE has come to terms on the release of Theodore Perkins (TJP)." Now, the door is open to him hitting the independent scene and possibly making an impact in All Elite Wrestling.
He's still young and has plenty of potential but it's a shame his WWE career ended up going this way.
Given WWE's 90-day no compete clause, it could be a while before we find out what's next for him. Still, there are a lot of options these days and he doesn't really need WWE so his future could be bright. What do you guys think? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
